Once a promising hillside residential, Amansiara is a development by Wirama Development Sdn Bhd which was completed in Mid 2009. Located along Jalan Ipoh within Batu Caves in the township of Selayang, the project follows a gated and guarded concept offering a safe haven for those craving a peaceful lifestyle.
A Collection of Townhouses
Comprised of 4-storey townhouses totalling 881 units, the leasehold development seemed like an ideal neighbourhood. It neighbours other residential developments like Andarai Townvilla, Selayang Point and Selayng Heights Apt. Choices of units are varied and spacious featuring built-ups from 1,086 sq.ft. to 1,605 sq.ft. Each unit comes with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms allowing young and growing families to fit in just fine.
It’s attractive launch price which starts from RM148,880 onwards was another draw to potential investors. Amansiara was developed in three phases building enough units to cater to a large number of potential investors. Another aspect of the residential’s masterplan is to create a family-friendly neighbourhood. This was pulled off by installing a collection of facilities serving the entire development. Within the site are practical and essential lifestyle amenities meeting day-to-day needs and occasional cravings for leisure. Among the project’s features are:
> badminton court
> swimming pool
> multi-purpose hall
> playground for children
The leasehold residential is then secured with round the clock security together with a card access system. This keeps the perimeter safe and living environment peaceful for everyone.
Close Proximity to Conveniences
Another selling point for Amansiara is its close proximity to a number of amenities. Whether it’s dining, transportation, education, medical or shopping, the vicinity has amenities meeting every need. Some of the nearest schools to the site are IIUM Faculty of Law and Intl Islamic University. Medically, IIUM Medical Centre, Selayang Hospital and nearby clinics are easily accessible.
As for shopping, residents can head over to One Selayang and Mydin Hypermarket to take care of essentials or indulge in a shopping spree. Transportation is no trouble either with two RapidKL stations sitting nearby. Private transport is good and relatively convenient with routes linking to KLCC and other desirable destinations.
Unfortunately, it did not go as planned for Amansiara. It started going downhill for the residential in 2009 when a landslide incident occurred close to the development’s Phase 1. Major concerns were aroused among investors and more complaints followed suit. There were complaints about property damages as well as the developer’s failed promise to build a flyover. The flyover was supposed to provide residents direct access to Jalan Ipoh, but it never materialized hence longer travel time.
All in all, Amansiara is a gated and guarded residential that once hold great promise as a peaceful community. A series of incidents and complaints, however, dampened investor enthusiasm while also putting a dent on the development’s reputation. Today, there are plenty of units that are still available at Amansiara. The trend has been pretty stagnant over the years with no significant appreciation for the property.
