A high rise condominium completed about 20 years ago, Scotland Park in Georgetown was one of the earlier developments by WingTai Asia under DNP Holdings. Since then, the development has established itself as a reputable brand not just building but crafting premium and niche properties.
Comprised of a one 15-storey block, Scotland Park was a subtle indication of WingTai Asia’s attention to quality craftsmanship while bringing out the property’s intrinsic value. Situated along Scotland Road in Penang, the condominium development was hard to miss. It is positioned on the left side when driving along said road when heading towards the town.
There are 68 limited condo units offered all in all featuring a built-up of 1,160 sq.ft. for standard units while penthouses measure 1,750 sq.ft. onwards. Of the 66 units, 62 are standard units and only 6 are penthouses. Subsale price was set from RM620,000 to RM1.3 million and rental rate was between RM1,800 to RM2,600. What We Think
Though rather old, Scotland Park continues to draw attention because of its low density concept having only 6 units per floor. This means privacy for those craving for one while still enjoying quick access to conveniences thanks to its along the road position. Facing the main road can be both a drawback and a plus though. There’s no question how easily accessible the development is but residents may have to deal with traffic, noise and dust all at the same time.
In terms of cost, Scotland Park’s subsale price may be deemed expensive considering its age and in comparison with newer developments in the area. Naturally, potential investors are leaning towards new properties if you’re paying the same amount of money anyway. But then again, Scotland Park is backed by a reputable developer and it also has its advantages that’s worth looking at if you’re interested.
