Suria Damansara is a low-density leasehold condominium located in Kelana Jaya off the LDP, completed by Matroz Corporation in 2006. Matroz, who? Well, we’re wondering about this just like you. More on this later. 🙂
Suria Damansara enjoys a quiet location right in the heart of the Kelana Jaya suburbs. However, the condominium is still near the bustling and happening destinations around the city, as well as the modern conveniences the place has to offer. Being near Paradigm Mall is a sure selling point; it’s also a stone’s throw away from Niu Ze Xui (NZX) which is now a dying place waiting for the final nail in its coffin. Sorry for being morbid, but we really wanted to like this place… unfortunately things didn’t pan out well for them which is a shame. Holly’s Coffee’s pretty nice. 🙂
Pricing-wise, Suria Damansara is mostly compared to D’aman Ria and D’aman Crimson which are its nearest residential properties (as well as Mayang Court which is nearer to the LDP). D’aman Crimson is etching towards the RM400 PSF point for some time now; and it’s only natural that Suria Damansara is also anchored around the same price point. For a better analysis on the “fair” price to pay for a Suria Damansara unit, use this methodology.
If NZX is still rockin’, the prices of Suria Damansara should be higher, too. Also, Suria Damansara is nowhere near Damansara. 😉

Suria Damansara 101
Suria Damansara is made up of three blocks. These blocks are comprised of only eleven storeys. In total, the condominium houses 200 units, spread evenly among its three blocks. Density therefore is quite low, which is somewhat a rarity for a condominium in Kelana Jaya (or Petaling Jaya even). This is perhaps Suria’s strongest selling point; be prepared to have the agent to keep talking about this when convincing you to buy. *wink*
For its facilities, the Suria Damansara has pretty bog standard stuff. It has a gymnasium, a playground, a barbecue area, and a swimming pool. Unit owners are given two parking slots on its car parking areas. The condominium also provides a 24-hour security system, complete with round-the-clock surveillance for the protection and security of its residents. Nothing particularly groundbreaking nor interesting here… but what do you expect from a mid-of-the-range Kelana Jaya condo? Exactly. 😉
Suria’s location is also ideal to many. From banks, hospitals, convenience stores, shopping malls, and restaurants—every destination can easily be reached when one resides at the Suria Damansara. Living at the Suria Damansara guarantees convenience, even for the pickiest buyer. Commercial areas and office spaces frequent the area, so it would not be hard for the condominium’s residents to go to work on a daily basis. Supermarkets, convenience stores, schools, and banks can be reached by foot within minutes. Its proximity to Paradigm Mall is a huge plus.
Hypermarts and supermarkets that are close to the condominium include Tesco, Parkson, Jusco, Citta Mall, and Giant. Educational institutions nearby include Monash University, Sunway University, and the Malaysia University of Science and Technology.
Taking public transportation going to the condominium won’t also pose as a problem, as the Suria Damansara is located near the Kelana Jaya LRT Station. Furthermore, there are also Rapid KL Feeder stops that are located in Taman Bahagia, Kelana Jaya, and Taman Paramount. Going to spots such as KLCC and to other areas in Kuala Lumpur from the condominium can be done via the New Klang Valley Expressway, PLUS Highway, Federal Highway, LDP, and ELITE. These major highways can be used by Suria Damansara’s residents to go to their specific locations, and know which roads to take to avoid traffic congestions during peak hours.
We like Suria Damansara for its location mostly; being near LDP definitely has its advantages. Being near Paradigm Mall means that one does not have to travel far for fun and frolic – previously one would have to drive down to One Utama for the nearest shopping mall. Additionally, residents would love the exclusivity and the privacy Kelana Jaya offers, and Suria Damansara offers both a quiet atmosphere while being in the centre of it all. With the area’s nearby supermarkets, banks, schools, and malls, residents would be able to enjoy the convenience of availing everything they need all in one place, without having to go far. Traffic jams, however, are common in this area (LDP’s congestion is legendary!). It’s best to know alternate routes and roads to take should you decide to invest or buy a unit in Suria Damansara.
As far as the amenities and the condition of the property is concerned, it’s all rather familiar and off-the-mill. Nothing bad, but nothing particularly great either.
We have tried to research the developer “Matroz Corporation Sdn Bhd” but we came up with nothing. It’s probably the subsidiary of a subsidiary of a subsidiary of a medium sized developer, if you get my drift. 😉 We could probably mistake the name for a Decepticon as well. Matroz, attack!
OK, lame jokes aside – many seem to think that the prices are reasonable; this can be attributed by the number of its residents who have been staying there for long term, instead of renting it out. We are still unsure at this point unless we do this full blown “price comparative” analysis which we would recommend that you do if you want to invest in a unit here. Download this guide below if you want to do just that (highly recommended).
