The developers of Icon City in Petaling Jaya were definitely looking to make an icon when they were making Icon City. Considering the massive project that it has escalated into, and the beautiful real estate paradise that it has become, it has definitely earned a true-blue “icon” status among its Petaling Jaya contemporaries. Then again, amongst its closest neighbors of low-cost housing projects and villages and shops, of course this massive, exquisite, grand project would naturally be a standout.
And in many other ways, Icon City is quite outstanding and notable. It has easy access to major areas like Damansara, PJ, Subang Jaya, and Bandar Sunway via major highways. On top of that, it is also a highly recognized green building, with certificates from LEED (US), Green Building Index, and Green Mark.
Icon City consists of high end serviced apartment buildings, grand shop offices, and a whole variety of other commercial real estate property sprawled all over the almost 20-acre prime urban location. Most of Icon City is yet to be completed, but the place is as good as done with its exquisite iSoVo (small-office versatile-office) sections, the Icon Residenz, and the latest to have been launched and opened, the Icon Residenz Creative Tower.
The iSoVo or the small office versatile office properties at Icon City are composed of commercial and office spaces. The concept of the iSoVo is centered on providing an all-around commercial space that is “versatile” and can be transformed into practically anything the owner desires it to be. iSoVo’s 283 units are housed in two towers of 31-storeys each. There are two types of units at the iSoVo to choose from, varying mainly by the size: one has a built-up of 794 sq. ft. and the other has a built up size of 1,094 sq. ft.
The iSoVo units are currently on the market at psf rates of about RM 800. Prices of units here range between RM 500,000 to almost RM 1 million especially for the fully furnished ones. They come with broadband internet connection, video conference rooms, among other business0savvy features.

Icon Residenz is the first of the many phases of serviced apartments built on the iconic Icon City development. If you’re looking for low density and exclusive, you may find the former a little impossible. There are currently over 500 units on the Icon Residenz, most of which come with 3+1 bedrooms and bathroom layout. The units here have sizes ranging 550 square foot to 1,820 square foot.
Residents of Icon Residenz can enjoy features such as swimming pool with Jacuzzi, sauna, tennis and squash courts, and their flagship facility: automated waste collection system.
Icon Residenz – Creative Tower
The Creative Tower is, like the first Icon Residenz tower, composed of serviced apartment units. The biggest difference and perhaps advantage it has over its predecessor is the fact that the buyers can have more options and can be more creative. For one, there are 11 apartment layouts to choose from, in built up size choices of 675 sf, 717 sf, and 965 sf. The “creative” part to the Creative Tower comes from the fact that they are customizable to some extent. The developers offer different options on the interiors of the apartments and the owners can put them together. Another thing that makes it unique is the fact that there are single- and dual-key units to choose from where the latter are two adjoined apartment units to form a much bigger unit. The psf rates at launch were at RM 800. Expect the rates to go much higher in this up and coming leasehold development over the next 5 or so years as the other phases of Icon City rise up one by iconic one.
