Located a stone’s throw away from Gurney Drive is Sri Perdana, a condominium development on freehold land completed way back in 1996. To be exact, the 17 year old high rise is situated along Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah within Penang neighbouring to other condo developments such as Mayfair Condo, Icon Residence, H Residence and Silverton among others.
Cozy and Comfortable Choices
Comprised of one 30-storey block, the rather old but well maintained property features 148 condo units. Following a low density concept, there are only 6 units per level with built-up size measuring 900 sq.ft. Each unit has 3 bedrooms and 2 bedrooms equipped with some basic furnishing including kitchen hoods, heaters and hobs while some units even have air conditioners.
Price for Sri Perdana is set from RM590,000 if you’re buying while rental is at RM1,650 per month minimum. Considering its age, despite well maintained, makes the price quite steep. The size is comfortable and cozy but not too big either. Fortunately, the development is set in a prestigious location giving residents quick access to modern amenities and facilities and this is probably one aspect that justifies the high price.

Modern Facilities Meeting Needs
Sri Perdana compensates for its old age with a wide collection of condo facilities. Within the building are features promoting healthy and active lifestyle including a gymnasium, swimming pool and courts for tennis, badminton, squash and table tennis. Retreat from the hustle and bustle, and enjoy a quite and relaxing time at the reading room, sauna or the landscaped garden. Inside each unit are more opportunities to relax with the balcony overlooking views of the tranquil sea or lush landscape.
Host a party or a meeting and invite over some friends at the community hall or conference room. If you’re worried about security, let that go as Sri Perdana is protected with 24-security ensuring the building is safe and sound for your lifestyle. Also valuable to residents with cars is the multilevel parking bay with car wash bays.
The Lure of Great Location
One of the development’s advantages is again its strategic location. Just a few minutes from Gurney drive, Batu Ferringhi beaches and other business centres, Sri Perdana allows residents to have quick access to a host of amenities. Within the vicinity is a myriad of dining choices from restaurants to food joints and cafes. A few minutes away are some great schools including SMK Union and Westlands as well as the Wawasan Open University.
In terms of connectivity, Sri Perdana is accessible via the area’s main road, Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah. It links the development to Penang’s Georgetown where another set of excellent amenities are situated. Public transport is also readily available via the nearest bus terminal and taxi everywhere.
Though location is one of Sri Perdana’s main selling point, it can be a downside too especially when it comes to traffic congestion during peak hours. Expect to experience them from time to time. Despite the drawback though, the development has seen a steady increase in its prices, proof that the property has more room for capital appreciation.
Back in 2009, the minimum price per unit was set from RM280,000. Fast forward to today, the lowest price now is RM590,000. If that trend is any indication, Sri Perdana poses as a promising investment poised to continually appreciate.
