Whoever coined the saying “age ain’t nothing but a number” is right — especially in Sri Wangsaria Bangsar’s case — a medium-density, freehold condominium located on Jalan Ara in bustling Bangsar. Sri Wangsaria is one of Bangsar’s oldest condominiums, as it has been standing ever since 1984. But don’t get me wrong—you’ be amazed on how well-kept and well-maintained the condominium is, even after all these years.
The medium-density condominium only consists of 18 storeys spread over five blocks. Strategically nestled in Jalan Ara, Bangsar, the condominium definitely has one of the best locations as compared to other condominiums in the area.
Layout and Built-Up Areas
One thing that makes Sri Wangsaria’s units special is its unobstructed views of the KLCC skyline — a luxury not all condominiums have in the Bangsar area. There are several options of layouts to choose from. For one, there is a high-rise unit, and a low-rise unit. High-rise units offer two and three bedroom units, as well as a penthouse. High-rise two bedroom units have a layout that measures 1,362 square feet. For a three bedroom high-rise unit, sizes range from 1,358 square feet to 1,455 square feet. Penthouses are spacious at 2,437 square feet.
For low-rise units, one has the option of choosing a studio, a one bedroom, or a three bedroom unit. They are sized at 648 square feet, 858 square feet, and 1,500 to 1,900 square feet respectively.
Let’s Talk Ringgit… And Sense 🙂
Listed sale prices of Sri Wangsaria Bangsar have continually increased over time. Because it is in a location that is favourable to everyone, the demand for its units is always high. Vacancy is scarce—for rent and for sale listings are immediately acknowledged, so it’s highly advisable to act quickly if you are interested in owning or renting a unit in this condominium.
Sale prices for this year have been steady. In April 2013, asking prices were listed at around RM680 per square feet, but this is (in our opinion) rather unrealistic given the property’s age especially.
The Bangsar Benefits
Being in the Bangsar location makes it easy to go places. It is a 15 minute drive away from the city centre, and activities are plenty. There are a lot of things to do in Bangsar, especially if you love entertainment, dining, and shopping.
Schools are also within the vicinity. SMK Bukit Bandaraya is just nearby. As for hospitals, there’s the Pantai Medical Centre, as well as Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.
Jalan Telawi is known for its hip bars, pubs, restaurants, and cafes. Sri Wangsaria is located just a few minutes away from this popular area. Shopping is easy, thanks to nearby malls such as Bangsar Village, Mid Valley Megamall, and Bangsar Shopping Centre.

Living at Sri Wangsaria
Despite its age, the condominium still stands pretty among its neighbouring condominums (The Loft, Casa Vista, Araville, and The Ara). Its maintenance is above-par, and this is evident by the condominium’s exteriors that never look of old age. OK, I exaggerate a little… but what do you expect from a decades-old apartment?
As for its facilities, expect only convenience. It has everything sorted to enable its residents to enjoy modern living along with luxury and class. There is a restaurant inside the condominium, as well as two squash and two tennis courts to keep those fit bodies healthy. There is also a gymnasium, a dance hall, a swimming pool, and a mini-market available for its residents. The condominium is guarded by a 24-hour security system, as well as 24-hour roving guard patrol.
Conclusion… Yay Or Nay?
Let’s first look at the facts. Sri Wangsaria was completed in 1984… and so it’s going to be a 30-year apartment sometime soon. How much wear and tear would you expect in thirty friggin’ years? A lot.
There’s one factor which is favoring Sri Wangsaria, and it’s the scarcity of land in Bangsar. New launches are few, and with the ongoing demand (which is expected to pick up this year) rental yield and capital appreciation will receive a boost in the near future. It’s of no surprise that the older developments tend to occupy the better spots in a mature neighbourhood like Bangsar, and this certainly rings true in the case of Sri Wangsaria.
All in all: Sri Wangsaria might be a good choice for an investment, but don’t bank too much on its looks or facilities. If you’re ballin’ and poppin’ Cristal every night at Telawi then you might want to retire into the relative poshness of One Menerung. Just sayin’ !
