Vista Komanwel, also known as Vista Commonwealth, seems to be the ideal living space of choice for the sports-minded lot. Historically, the building was of great athletic importance to Malaysia having initially been used as the Athlete’s Village for the 1998 Commonwealth Games.
Currently, apart from this little piece of history about this popular Bukit Jalil condo complex, there are two things that continuously make it a perfect living space for those who want to get in touch with their inner sportsman – the Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Club which sits right behind the complex, and the Bukit Jalil National Sports Complex is some mere minutes away from the complex. Then again, if you’re in Bukit Jalil and you want a place that will provide you with your needs for convenient amenities and accessibility to the major locations of Bukit Jalil – including the LRT Station (Sri Petaling) which sits right next to it – then maybe Vista Komanwel is perfect for you, sports hobbyist or not.
The other residential properties in this area include the Green Avenue Condominium, Arena Green Apartment, Covillea and the Savanna.
At the time of this PropertyReviews.my unbiased review piece (*wink*), the asking prices (in PSF basis) are in the mid RM300 levels. For comparison, here are the asking prices of the nearby residentials also on a PSF basis (correct at the time of publication of this review) –

Really, Vista Komanwel can suit anyone with plain and simple home needs. In fact, the midrange-priced units in this nine-block complex are very attractive to medical students who go to the International Medical University (IMU) that sits right behind one of the complexes.
However, if you’re looking for something high end and exquisite, the simplicity of the place may not exactly appeal to you. Because that’s what this residential complex is: simple. Room space starts at a little over 1,000 sq ft per unit and comes with at most 3+1 bedroom offering. And the price isn’t at all expensive – for instance, 1,404 sq ft furnished unit is on the market for only RM 460,000.
And for that, you get equally simple but satisfactory in-complex facilities like jogging tracks, covered parking, playground, security, a fitness center, and surprise, surprise – a squash court and a swimming pool that sits right in the middle of the property.
To counter the simplicity a bit, Vista Komanwel is in very close proximity to the posh Carrefour-carrying shopping center Endah Parade. Other shops and restaurants are also close by; and a mini-market and a cafeteria sit right within the complex for those lazy nights.
Traffic jam is not something to be surprised about – the LRT station and the medical school are both teeming with people on a daily basis, not to mention everyone else who needs anything in any of the shops and enterprises along the street. This shouldn’t be much of a problem, but a thing to get used to about living in a thriving city. For everything else, Vista Komanwel has one of the best locations in Bukit Jalil and if that’s what you’re after – this is something worth the serious consideration.
A large majority of the tenants at Vista Komanwel are students of the nearby IMU; the no-frills configuration is indeed appealing to students, and to some extent, young workers who are fresh out of school. Growing families or mid-career executives may be turned off by the heavy student population.
Investors who are looking at Vista Komanwel will be encouraged by the fact that the rental market is rather healthy with a steady demand renewed each year with new student intake at the IMU. The prices are also going up, but the asking price seems to be capped by the more upmarket condominiums nearby (Green Avenue, Savanna, Covillea, etc). Before you plonk down the cash for a unit at Vista Komanwel, remember to double-check if the price you pay reflects the true market value.
